With a family history of chocolatiers spanning over nearly 200 years the Cadbury name is once again prominent in the confectionery sector with James Cadbury - 5th generation since John Cadbury began in 1824 - launching the Love Cocoa brand.
The premium brand offers a range of different chocolate bars from the classic through to vegan options, a selection of 16 varying truffles and luxury gift sets all boasting sustainable single origin cocoa sourced from Colombia, Peru and Ecuador.
The packaging, which highlights the family connection to the brand, includes a home compostable bag and is supported by an active environmental campaign in Kenya to plant 1 tree for each product sold – in 2021 the milestone of 1 million trees planted was reached.
The Cadbury story began in 1824, when John Cadbury saw potential in the cocoa beans being shipped from south America on Spanish vessels. The beans were crushed and after the addition of spices and chilli a popular hot drink was born. The 1st Cadbury bars were introduced by the Richard and George, the 2 sons of George Cadbury.
On the back of listings with a number of domestic retailers both in the U.K. and abroad Love Cocoa has entered travel retail with Dufry. Due to the synergy between the product range and travel retail - premium positioning, brand heritage and a sustainable business model – the travel retail sector is one that Love Cocoa are keen to explore further and have recently begun working with travel retail experts JES Travel Retail on exploring opportunities globally.
James said “We’re really excited about this move into travel retail, with the world starting to reopen, and we’re looking forward to expanding the range and availability of the products over the next few years.”
